Rosengård Mobile Game
An Augmented Reality Game
Eventhough Rosengård is a neighborhood situated in the middle of the third biggest city in Sweden, Malmö because of the urban structure, it is isolated; moreover, it has been hosting immigrants from many countries mainly middle eastern countries. Because of the cultural differences between the swedish people and the immigrants living in Rosengård, most people do not travel to this part of the city unless they absolutely have to. The objective of the project was to create a bridge between this part of the city and the rest.

Since more than 50% of the population of this neighborhood is young children and teenagers, we decided to set our focus on this user group.

the users sign in they can be detected by other users and can be attacked.

It’s a simple survival game but instead of guns and grenades, users through vegetables and fruits at one another. For the option of playing in teams, users have the option of choosing the teams’ colours. In which case, the program allows them to use the colour and facial recognition during the game play.

Of course, either for single players or teams, GPS Positioning is essential. Players can see where their team-mates and rival team players are.

In addition, there are physical installations that react to the game. If there is a game in action, they light up with the colour of the team that is ahead in the game. When there is no game, they are lit in multi-colours.
